Overview
Furality Online Xperience is the furry convention that celebrates the VR furry fandom!
Furality, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity that operates a semi-annual online convention, which is made possible by our innovative and exciting use of virtual reality. By combining the best parts of VR and the furry community, we’ve created an immersive event that brings together the furry fandom in an extraordinary way.
Why Furality needs you!
The Furality team is a close-knit and diverse group of furries that are passionate about driving the VR furry fandom forward and having fun! You'll need to be 18 years of age or older to participate as a member of the Furality team.
Since our team is located around the world, all Furality team members work together remotely using our organization's collaboration tools, such as Discord and Notion.
What you'll do!
As an Event Stream In-World Camera Operator, you will help us by being behind the in-world camera switching system and capturing the magic of our events! During our events, you will operate a virtual camera system within VRChat and cut between different camera feeds. The control system drives a dedicated capture PC to produce the feed for the event stage, so you won't be directly streaming from your PC. Someone who has experience in broadcast or recording in VRChat, and a terrific eye for catching action would be a great fit for this position.
- Operate video switcher system built into our event stage worlds on VRChat to switch video sources, perform live digital effects and transitions, and insert pre-recorded material, graphics, and titles during our main event stage video broadcast
- Work collaboratively with event stream Producer(s) and Lead Technical Director(s) to set up scenes and block out needed camera shots in order to facilitate event stream productions
- Use PCVR to access our VRChat worlds during your shift and operate the systems from within VRChat
- Develop recommendations and conclusions from performing job duties, and present findings and recommendations to the leadership team
- Make creative choices on what camera shots you use while maintaining the look and feel of the Producer's vision.
- Help block out shots during practice sessions
- Closely follow the action as requested, keeping subjects in frame, and report any problems to the Event Stream Lead Technical Director or Event Stream Producer
- Move between VRChat instances as directed to ensure event coverage
- Maintain steady shots while the camera is “on air”
- Use Discord voice channels to communicate with Lead Technical Director and the production team
