Overview

Furality Online Xperience is the furry convention that celebrates the VR furry fandom!

Furality, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity that operates a semi-annual online convention, which is made possible by our innovative and exciting use of virtual reality.

Why Furality needs you!

The Furality team is a close-knit and diverse group of furries that are passionate about driving the VR furry fandom forward. You'll need to be 18 years of age or older.

Since our team is located around the world, all Furality team members work together remotely using Discord and Notion.

What you'll do!

As a VR Narrator, you are not only supporting safety, you are stewarding culture. You’ll be collaborating with the Furality team to help foster and maintain a vibrant, safe, and welcoming community for our attendees! Helping to guide, realign, and engage with alacrity.

  • Be on-hand in VRChat to actively moderate our Furality Gateway events, New Player Nights, and other special events that Furality may host.
  • Proactively handle in-the-moment moderation within VRChat group instances and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our attendees.
  • Escalate issues or support requests to the appropriate internal team as needed.
  • Collaborate with others and drive improvements to our documentation, policies, and more!

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with using VRChat’s group moderation capabilities.
  • Ability to handle and guide social situations in VRChat well and with promptness.
  • Demonstrated interest in VR and large online communities. Understanding our community is critical for this role.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to mediate issues that arise.
  • Availability to work regularly scheduled weekend events hosted within VRChat based on your time zone
  • Dedicated and consistent time commitment to all necessary team functions. This is expected to be ~2 hours per week and ~4 hours per day during major Furality events.

Extra skills that make our tails wag!

  • Prior experience coordinating and supporting a volunteer-based organization.
  • Prior moderation experience within VRChat and/or other VR platforms with a focus on large communities.
  • Prior experience with ‘in-the-moment’ and ‘in-person’ moderation needs.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, including large-scale social environments.
